This is: Waves, Wine & Warmth (2018)
Sailing north in the wake of the storm, the ship had been tossing around all night, and I woke up feeling both tired and distinctly woozy. Bruce persuaded me to call in at the medical centre on the way to breakfast, which turned out to be an excellent course of action. After a short consultation with the nurse, I got two pills to take right away and a further two to take at bedtime. I managed to pick my way through a Danish pastry for breakfast, as the thought of egg revolted me today. I was starting to feel less nauseous but still very tired, so I returned to the cabin to rest while Bruce found somewhere to sit and read. I felt remarkably better by 12 noon, the ship's motion no longer bothering me. Those pills really worked!
We had a light lunch in Horizon Court (the buffet venue), in my case putting together a random selection of clam chowder, fried fish, taco and poppadom. The afternoon continued on a theme of not doing very much: I made excellent progress with my trip notes, and with reading Book 3 of the House of Cards trilogy. I also watched Battle of the Sexes with Bruce, which was about tennis players Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King.
The second planned full day at sea brought with it the second and last formal night. Once more looking particularly smart, we made a relatively short visit to the Wheelhouse Bar - can you tell that I felt very much better by this stage? - and then had dinner in the Amalfi dining room.
