This is: Spring Fever 2008
I had an early morning call to make sure that I got up in time for my first of three flights today. I'd prepared just about everything the previous evening, so I was soon ready to check out and take the short ride to the airport. I was amazed at how busy it was at this time of the morning. Without too much delay, I was soon weaving my way through the airside crowds in search of the Star Alliance lounge and some breakfast.

What initially appeared to be a tight connection at Munich was nothing of the kind, due to the early arrival of the flight from Dubai and the delayed departure of my connection to London. I followed the signs to my connecting gate and eventually realised that, in doing so, I was ruling out the possibility of spending some time in the lounge. I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of trying to find out how to do it differently, however, and just spent the short wait reading in the gate area.

Terminal 2 presented a poor appearance with its claustrophobic low ceilings, but at least everything worked well. There were minimal queues at UK Border Control and my case was actually on the belt when I got there. Heavens - this is in danger of becoming a habit! Once landside, I quickly found the covered walkway via the Queen's Building to Terminal 1, where I checked in for my final flight of the day and relaxed for a while in the bmi Business Lounge. As a newly-qualified bmi Silver, I was entitled to use the Diamond Club lounge, but as I hadn't been home to pick up my card yet, I couldn't be bothered making a fuss about it.

Once again, there were no baggage delays at Edinburgh and I was soon picking up my car and making the journey along the M9 towards home. Parts 1 and 2 were over and my three day respite was about to begin!
