This is: Quebec to Florida, by Sea (2019)
Breakfast today was at a nearby branch of Aroma Coffee. It was a pleasant-looking shop, but we both felt that the food and drink didn't quite match our expectations. Once again, there was no desperate rush to get going, and it ended up being around 11am before I set out. It was a beautiful, sunny morning - but one plagued by gusty, chilly winds coming off Lake Ontario.
I began by walking westwards along the waterfront before turning inland towards Roundhouse Park, at the foot of the CN Tower. As you might expect, this was based around a former railroad turntable and roundhouse, and I enjoyed the combination of 'railwayana', strong sunshine and striking autumn colours. When I had finished there, I walked via the Royal York Hotel, Union Station and the Flatiron Building to St Lawrence Market. As this seemed like a perfect place to have lunch, I decided to indulge at Buster's Sea Cove. It was easily the most popular place in the market, and their crabcake sandwich didn't disappoint.
In the afternoon I found myself passing St James' (Anglican) Cathedral and popped in for a quick visit. I also took in a small art exhibition before returning to the hotel around 4pm. After I had rested for a couple of hours while Bruce finished his working day, we both set out with for a second evening in the Church & Wellesley neighbourhood. The highlight was a Japanese dinner at Kintaro Izakaya: the food was superb, except that we ordered too much!
