This is: Indian Ocean 2012
I had a relatively late lie-in, at least for me. The buffet-style breakfast was at the Feast restaurant and it was very busy - everyone else seemed to be keeping similar hours to me. Thankfully, it was a much better day, weather-wise: there was to be no significant rain at all. I managed a couple of walks and made good use of the Island Cottage's little balcony, retreating back indoors for a while when the heat and humidity became too much.
I had lunch at Sand Coast once again.
There was a large group of Chinese tourists, at least some of whom
were a bit of a nightmare in terms of being noisy and cellphone-addicted,
just like so many westerners. The waiters were also kept busy
sending them outside every time they lit up; they seemed to think it
was acceptable to smoke anywhere they pleased. The women were also
prone to staring at non-Chinese people, as though they'd never
encountered foreigners before. There was a strange incident
involving me when one woman wandered over to my table and just stood
there observing me eating my food, looking fascinated and
occasionally emitting a little giggle. One of the waiters had to
come to my rescue: "Excuse me, Madam, please come over here and sit
down!" Very strange behaviour.
(I suspect she was probably thinking the same thing about the way I
was biting chunks out of a large and generously filled baguette.)
The afternoon brought more of my morning routine and when the sun had finally gone, I freshened up and had dinner at Baan Thai. This more upscale restaurant had a far better ambience for an evening meal and also had the benefit of being fully enclosed and air-conditioned. Once again, this day of laid-back relaxation ended with a movie in my room.
