Westin, Sydney
The Westin is on the site of the former GPO building at 1 Martin Place and consists of that building and the new tower that has been constructed through the middle of it - a concept that is not necessarily unique in Sydney. The GPO building makes for a magnificent atrium, which is well stocked with restaurants and bars. Being in the heart of the Central Business District, it is arguably more business-friendly than tourist oriented, but in fact it is not that far from anywhere of interest to visitors. Due to the way the trip evolved, I spent the first night in a room by myself and the second night in a shared room.
