Hotel 2

Westin Palace, Madrid

Along with its near neighbour the Ritz, the Westin Palace has to be one of the finest hotels in Madrid, and I'm confident that it represents the best possible choice for anyone who plays the points & miles game. The location is superb: directly across the street from the world-famous Prado museum, a short stroll away from Retiro Park, a longer (but still manageable) walk from the main part of the city centre, and fairly handy for public transport.

The property is very well appointed, an impression that begins the moment that the doorman clears the way for you and you step into the opulent lobby area. I found my room to be pleasant, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast under the famous dome is a fabulous way to start each day.
