Hilton Wangfujing, Beijing
The Hilton Wangfujing is very conveniently located, just off the well-known pedestrianised shopping street whose name it bears. Although use of public transport and taxis is inevitable in a sprawling metropolis like Beijing, I think it's always nice to be within walking distance of a few attractions. The hotel certainly ticks that box, with Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the up-market Oriental Plaza shopping mall all within easy reach.
The property is thoroughly modern and I was well pleased with my king bed suite. I was also delighted by the Executive Lounge and its friendly and helpful staff, who made a great job of the breakfast and Happy Hour service. Also to be highly recommended was the fifth-floor Chynna restaurant.
