Round The World and other travels

A frequent flyer's collection of trip diaries

August 2005 : InterContinental Praha

The InterContinental Praha enjoys a fine riverside location in the Old Town. From the hotel, it's only a five minute stroll through the Jewish quarter to the Old Town Square, or a slightly longer walk along the river bank to the Charles Bridge. The hotel building, like its counterpart in Vienna, is externally unattractive, and this seems a shame given the wonderful surroundings. Any exterior deficiencies, however, are soon forgotten once inside.

I was upgraded to a Club Floor Suite and was granted full Club access, with the usual benefits of breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails, refreshments, internet stations, etc. The Club Lounge in this property is on the small side and thankfully has a No Smoking policy. The suite itself was appointed to the usual high standards. The main door opened directly onto the day room, which had its own separate toilet. The bedroom and main bathroom were accessed through a sliding door.

Another very enjoyable Royal Ambassador experience
