Hilton, Toronto
The Hilton is well located in downtown Toronto, close to the Four Seasons Centre of Performing Arts, Queen's Park, the Eaton Centre and Old City Hall. Additionally, it has good access to the subway. It's a good, solid building that in many ways seemed typically North American and I particularly appreciated my end-of-corridor junior suite on a four-night stay. At the same time, I felt that the room decor could have benefitted from a makeover and the injection of a bit of contemporary style.
There were a number of in-house dining options, but I found that Barrister's Bar in the lobby offered a range of lighter options in a friendly and informal atmosphere. The Executive Lounge provided breakfast and an evening cocktail hour, but only snacks and soft drinks were provided free of charge. An honour system, whereby guests were asked to fill out their consumption on a chit, operated for alcoholic drinks.
