Hotel 4

InterContinental Pudong, Shanghai

A nice example of the InterContinental brand, situated in Pudong, a 20-minute walk (or two metro stops) away from the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Although not ideally placed for exploring the Puxi side, it is nevertheless only four metro stops away from People's Square. My Royal Ambassador upgrade was to an Executive Room, rather than a suite. The Ambassador gift seemed to be of reasonable quality and beautifully packaged Chinese mooncake was also presented in celebration of the mid-Autumn Festival.

Special mention must be made of the Executive Lounge, almost certainly the best example of its type that I had experienced to date. They even served Moët et Chandon during Happy Hour!
