Round The World and other travels

This was my second stay at the Mark Hopkins, and what a difference it makes to be a Royal Ambassador! It's not The Willard, and its upgrade policies are certainly not as generous, but this was nevertheless a most enjoyable stay, not least thanks to the very friendly and helpful staff. The Nob Hill location, on the California Street cable car line and only one block from the Powell & Mason / Powell & Hyde lines, is both convenient and civilised.
