This is: Round The World 2006-07
Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) - San Diego (SAN)
Perhaps surprisingly for such a late flight, both cabins were going to be completely full, and the usual announcements were made about how passengers could help expedite the boarding process. As I settled into 4A, I felt that the Super 80 seats were indeed more comfortable than those on the native AA 757s. We managed to push back just five minutes down on schedule and the Super 80, like any rear-engined aircraft, whooshed and hissed its way into the air exactly on the stroke of ten. It amazes me how quiet these beasts always appear to be while on board, considering the appalling racket they make from the perspective of anyone outside.
My chosen drink was simply a diet coke, which was topped up several times. The AA signature warm cocktail nuts were offered and accepted. Later on, a hot cookie was also offered. Understandably, I think, I dozed for most of the flight.
We made very early preparation for landing as the Captain said that other aircraft had been reporting a bumpy approach. Touchdown was at 2253 and a mere three minutes saw us parked at our stand.
