Flight Log 28 : AS2152

Portland (PDX) - Vancouver (YVR)

When we eventually did get to board, I quickly settled into 9A, right at the back of the small cabin. I'd chosen it deliberately on the basis that, with the flimsy little seats typically used on a Dash 8, I didn't want any supersized or just plain fidgety person behind me. We pushed back at 2241 in darkness and were airborne by 2245.

Unlike most North American carriers, Alaska (and their subsidiary Horizon, which was operating this flight) still provides complimentary soft drinks, beer and wine and a snack. I had some Sweet 'n' Spicy potato chips and a beer. I tried to work out whether this Q200 was indeed quieter than its predecessors but, to be honest, I was by this time too tired to reach a conclusion.

We touched down in YVR at 2344 and made it to our allocated stand by 2350. Despite the delay, it had been a pleasant enough short hop, and one on which I could even collect some useful BA Miles
