This is: Round The World 2006-07
So the laundry had been done, my suitcase had been re-packed, Easter had been celebrated and family had been visited. Oh, and Part 1 of this diary was now live on the Internet! I'd decided that three weeks was just too long to park my car at the airport so, despite a fair bit of messing around being involved, I was going to get to EDI using public transport. The matter was helped considerably by the fact that Easter Monday is not much of a public holiday in the East of Scotland - something that I still find strange after all these years. In the event, it all went remarkably smoothly and two buses and one express coach later, I was at the airport over 2.5 hours before the scheduled departure time of my flight - too early to check in! Oh well - better that than cutting it too fine and messing up. I found a quiet corner to sit down and read a few chapters of my book until check-in opened.
Security was as quiet as I've ever seen it at EDI and, after a quick visit to the Travelex bureau, I was soon in a remarkably quiet and tidy-looking BA Terraces Lounge. It was to fill up nearer the time of the Heathrow flight, with many family groups, I suspect, being let in as a favour.

On arrival at Heathrow, I quickly and easily transferred to Terminal 1 (International) and the familiar territory of the F lounge. As there was absolutely no rush at all, I decided that it was high time for another personal first. I went into the Molton Brown Spa and booked a shower and a neck and shoulders massage. I had half an hour to spare before the allotted time and headed through to the Champagne Bar for a glass of the absolutely excellent Alfred Gratien pink Champagne. Then it was into the spa for a refreshing shower, followed by the booked treatment. It was superb - wonderfully relaxing and therapeutic. I think I'll be back
After that, it was back to the main part of the lounge for rather more mundane pre-flight relaxation. As usual, I headed for the gate as soon as it had been posted on the electronic screens.
