This small 4-star hotel would be a jarring reality check for anyone tempted to be sniffy about the Best Western brand. Ideally situated on the Corso Porta Nuova, it is roughly half-way between the railway station / airport bus terminal and the old town district, and is within easy walking distance of either.
I had an attractive room with a large bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi bath. The windows had electrically operated shutters that helped to ensure a quiet night, although in truth there was little extraneous noise to begin with. The lobby bar was a good place to enjoy a cocktail before heading out for the evening and every guest received a complimentary welcome drink.
Finally, it should be remembered that Best Western has a loyalty programme in which stays can either be credited with points or airline miles. For this latter purpose, Lufthansa's Miles & More scheme is a partner.
