Round The World and other travels

And another dodgy start for this one, although I suppose you could say that the late departure of SA405 complemented the late arrival into Johannesburg of BA55! As I settled into 1A, the Captain announced that it was all his fault. Our delayed departure was caused by the late arrival into JNB of the flight crew. Oh well, not to worry! I had a pre-departure glass of orange juice and noted that the Business Class cabin had a 2+3 layout of non-convertible seats. There was a hot towels service, and the extremely wacky animated safety video was also shown prior to departure.

We eventually pushed back at 1052 and were airborne at 1108, after a relatively long take-off roll. Once cabin service got underway, white tablecloths were distributed and we began with drinks (I had a diet coke) and mixed nuts. The meal consisted of some fresh fruit and a choice of chicken or vegetable crepes, followed by a tea / coffee service. A very funny series of 'Just for Laughs' gags was shown on the flip-down screens.

Soon enough, we were crossing the Eastern Cape coastline before turning back to land at PLZ. We touched down at 1227, decelerated sharply on this relatively short runway and arrived on stand at 1232.
