July 2006 : Annecy

A desire to visit the picturesque town of Annecy, in the Haute-Savoie region of France, was in fact the driver behind this weekend trip. However on looking into the various travel options, I came to the conclusion that I should base myself in Geneva and visit Annecy as a cross-border day-trip from the Swiss city. Thanks to an early start, I had ample time to explore the town, enjoy a lake cruise and have a very pleasant, leisurely lunch. Hopefully the photos will confirm that this is a 'must see' European destination.
