Flight Log 4: UA5408

Albuquerque (ABQ) - Denver (DEN)

I had noticed when the aircraft arrived that it was carrying Skywest's own livery rather than that of United. The boarding process was well handled and I managed to be second on board. As I settled into 2A, I noted that the windows were set very low in the fuselage and were of little use - except perhaps to children - for seeing anything while on the ground. Boarding didn't take very long and on completion, it was clear that there were plenty of empty seats. 3A was unoccupied - an excellent result - but I had an immediate neighbour in 2C. We pushed back precisely on schedule and were in the air just seven minutes later.

Cabin service was from the back. I ate a turkey wrap and some crisps / potato chips that I'd brought on board, while the 'free beverage' voucher that Bruce had kindly donated got me a small bottle of nicely chilled Californian Chardonnay. The descent from 31,000ft started around 1940 and I had some excellent clear views of Denver during the approach. We touched down at 2003, made a long and fast taxi at this huge airport and arrived on stand at 2013, nicely ahead of schedule.

In summary, a routine short hop.
